Le Tour Filipinas Kicks Off its 2011 Edition on 16thApril

The honor of snatching opening-day honors in a possibly blustery Saturday morning of racing is expected to squeeze the best out of a battle-tested mix of 75 local and foreign cyclists as the Le Tour Filipinas kicks off its 2011 edition.

The Race was calendared on the UCI Asia Tours with Stage 1 covering 66 Kms of tight and tactical racing over an 11-Km circuit that started and ended at the Rajah Sulaiman Park on Roxas Boulevard. The 2ndStage on 17thApril covered 153Km from Balanga to Iba. Form Iba, the riders will pedal 151Km, from Zambales to the Pangasinan finish in Liagayen for Stage 3 on 18thApril. There comes the final stage on 19thApril-- a 112 Km ride that culminates with a treacherous climb on Kennon Road to the Burnham Park finish in Baguio City.
