The 2010 Asian Track and Road Cycling Championships for Men and Women/Boys and Girls were opened at the Zayed Velodrome in Sharjah, UAE with 31 member National Cycling Federations affiliated to the ACC attended, marking the first Asian Cycling Championships ever held in the western part of the Asian Continent.

Korean Team snatched two of the three gold medals on offer at the 30th Asian Elite and 17thAsian Junior Cycling Championships, which ended at the Zayed Velodrome on 17thApril.

Korea underlined its status as the Continent뭩 cycling power, adding golds in women뭩 and men뭩 elite Omnium, even as China ended overall runner-up.

The 10-day competitions, divided into two separate categories, namely road and track events, saw Korea maintain its dominance with 25 gold medals (9 for Elite, 16 for Junior), while China took 8 gold, and Japan finished in third with 2 gold medals.

The UCI published the Qualification Systems for Track cycling, MTB and BMX for the 2012 London Olympic Games, which are available now at www.uci.ch and www.asiancycling.com.
The Qualification Systems for Road cycling was known to be published shortly.

Mr. Abraham N. Tolentino, President of the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines (PHILCYCLING) was elected via a landslide win as Mayor of the Tourist City of Tagaytay, Philippines in the historical automated National Election of May10, 2010 held in the Philippines.
  His election has brought him the 3rd term as Mayor of Tagaytay City till 2014.

On the opening day of competition on 11thAugust, Hye Jin, Lee from Korea, who has been training at the WCC in Aigle, Switzerland since February, 2010 won a gold medal in 500M Time Trial and on 14th August, Hye Jin, Lee again won her second gold medal title from Splint Races at the 2010 UCI Jr. Track Championships held in Montichiari, Italy from 11-15 August.

A UCI Merit will be awarded to Mr. Ulzi-Orshikh Jamsran, Secretary General of Mongolian Cycling Federation (MCF) and former Mongolian National Cyclist during the 2010 UCI Congress at Melbourne on 1stOct. The Award of the UCI Merit was decided at the UCI MC at Birmingham in June by the recommendation of the ACC President.

The ACC Coaching Course approaches and opens on 14thSept at Sharjah, UAE, as all 10 trainee coaches selected from 5 NF of the Middle East and 4 NF of South Asia affiliated to the ACC are getting ready to travel to UAE in a full expectation of the first Coaching Course ever held by the ACC.

The 10 day뭩 Course will be delivered by a well known instructor, Mr. Robert Harvey from England, who was appointed by the UCI.
