Seoul City hosted its first international cycling event despite heavy rains on 8th Nov, with a city cyclist winning the inaugural title.

Cho, Ho-Seong( 35) prevailed in the Tour de Seoul , one of the Asia Tours in Korea, jointly hosted by Seoul Cycling Association and The Dong-A Newspaper in a tough battle against 109 cyclists from 10 nations. 

The course spanning 100.5 km began at Gwang Hwa Mun Plaza in downtown Seoul and ended at the main building of The Dong-A Newspaper in the same area via major intersections and roads in the City.

As one of the 2009 ACC solidarity programs, 10 road bikes and 5 BMX bikes will be supported to ACC뭩 needy member national federations within this year.

The road bicycles were supported through the UCI solidarity program, whilst the 5 BMX bikes were prepared by the 2008 ACC solidarity committee chaired by Mr. Alfred Li (Hong Kong China).

The ACC Executive Committee decided the principles, based upon which the 10 road bikes and the 5 BMX bikes will find new owners as follows:

During the 178 Congress and the new Management Committee of the International Cycling Union (UCI), Mr. Cho, Hee Wook, ACC President was elected for the post of the UCI Vice President for the first time ever in the 50 years� history of the Asian cycling sport.

The ACC has at long last succeeded in adding one (1) more UCI Board Member, Mr. Sheikh Faisal Humaid Al-Qassimi, President of UAE Cycling Federation and ACC Vice President to the UCI Management Committee at the 2009 UCI Congress election held in Lugano, Switzerland on 25thSeptember.

Having one more Member in the UCI Management Committee through the election of the 2009 Congress at Lugano has long been one of the primary campaign goals that Mr. Cho, Hee Wook, ACC President promised to achieve during his tenure since his inauguration as ACC President back in 2005.

The ACC Solidarity Program finds its masters again by donating 5 BMX free style bikes to Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines (ICFP) and Kazakhstan Cycling Federation (KCF).

The 10 BMX Bikes were donated by the ACC Solidarity Committee chaired by Mr. Alfred Li for 2008, and were waiting for the decision made at the ACC Management Committee held on 14thAugust,2009 in Indonesia on what NFs and how many bikes should be allocated among the 4 applicant NFs.

Starting from 2009, the Organizing NFs for the annual Asian BMX or Indoor Cycling Championships will be awarded with USD 500 as one of the gestures to encourage their (its) effort and contribution toward organization of the said Championships and promotion of both cycling disciplines in Asia as well.

During the 2009 Asian Indoor Cycling Championships held in Hong Kong China on 11thJuly, where 5 NFs from HKG, JPN, MAL, THA and MAC were represented, Mr. Cho, ACC President awarded USD 500 to Cycling Association of Hong Kong China (CAHKC), the hosting NF.
