Track Asia Cup 2018 saw its curtain falling on Sunday, 23rd September here at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium Complex Velodrome. The last day of the Cup turned out to be a spectacular performance from the host team. 

India won the top spot by bagging 6 gold medals, 5 silver and 2 bronze. The Indonesian team secured the second place with 4 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze while Hong Kong came third by winning 4 gold and 2 bronze. The closing ceremony of the magnificent event was privileged by the presence of Mr. Rajeev Mehta, General Secretary of Indian Olympic Association.

Esow Alben who won 02 Gold medals one in Individual Sprint &other one in Team Sprint events in Track Asia Cup 2018 hailing from Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar islands is taking the hope and future of Indian Cycling forward. The charming 17 year old with his ever-smiling face, has been under the limelight from the time he bagged the silver medal at the Keirin world junior championship 2018 held in Aigle, Switzerland.

Day 2 of the Track Asia Cup 2018 witnessed exuberant performances on the Velodromewith finals of 8 events taking place. However, there were a handful number of crashes too but the pain was all erased in the enthusiasm of the cyclists.

On day 1, India could only have a marginal lead above the Indonesian team presented an exciting show of talent. But on Saturday, 22nd September, the hosting team took significant steps towards the championship and earned 1 Gold and 2 Silver medals on Day 2.

The 5th edition of Track Asia Cup 2018 organised by Cycling Federation of India started off here at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi on Friday, 21st September. Participants from 12 countries compete in this enthralling cycling event which is not only the qualifying event for World Cup and World championship, but also for 2020 Tokyo Olympics. India being the favourites hopes to clinch an authentic victory.

New Delhi, 20th September 2018: Indian team is ready to take the challenge in the ‘fifth’ edition of the Track Asia Cup 2018 which is going to kick off tomorrow at the capital in Cycling Velodrome, Indira Gandhi Sports Complex from 21-23 September 2018. The eyes will be on Indian Juniors this year as Indian Junior Cycling Team has already left a mark at the Juniors World Championship.
